Score and Statistics

You can check your score for the game in progress by choosing Score from the Other menu.

Solitaire Till Dawn remembers how many times you’ve played each solitaire, and how many times you’ve won. You can choose Show Statistics… from the Other menu to display your statistics for the kind of solitaire you’re currently playing, or  choose Clear Statistics… to erase the records and start over with a clean slate.

Score and Stats at a Glance

You can see your score and statistics in short form in the status bar at the bottom left of the window. (See picture: The Status Bar.) The status bar displays the number of moves you have made, your current score for the game you are playing, and your statistics for past games of the kind you are playing.

The move counter, at the left end of the status bar, will increase every time you successfully move a card or build, and when you deal. It will also increase when you Redo moves, and decrease when you Undo moves.

Your current score is displayed in the middle of the status bar. In most games, your score is the number of cards you have played to the foundations: “42/52" means you have played 42 out of 52 cards to the foundations. Some games have special scoring; see the Games Guide for information about scoring in these games.

While a game is in progress, the small icon next to the score will be a picture of an Ace, which means that the game has not yet been won. When you win a game, the icon changes to a blue ribbon.

Your statistics are displayed at the right end of the status bar. They are usually shown in the form “15/45 33%” which means you have played 45 games and won 15 of them, and therefore have won 33% of all your games. Your statistics are shown only for the kind of solitaire you are playing; that is, your Canfield stats are kept separately from your Klondike stats, and so on. The games with special scoring usually have special statistics too.

Statistics are updated when you are notified that you’ve won a game, or when you give up on a game and quit or start a new one. Statistics are not updated if you save the game just before you quit or start a new one.

Personal Statistics

If more than one person uses Solitaire Till Dawn on your Macintosh, you may wish to keep your scores separate. See the section on “Profiles” in the Preferences chapter to learn how.
